Buffalo Service Corps
Buffalo Service Corps (BSC) is an AmeriCorps-sponsored workforce development program that provides young adults from the City of Buffalo with high-quality job training opportunities, preparing them for employment in the environmental sector.
BSC coordinates directly with local municipal agencies to engage members in a variety of public parks support and green infrastructure projects, ensuring Corps Members are developing in-demand skills while furthering local conservation and environmental stewardship initiatives.
BSC Corps Members might:
- Improve local public parks through different types of landscaping
- Install and maintain rain gardens across the City of Buffalo
- Manage volunteers during an environmental cleanup
- Inspect green infrastructure to ensure that it's working properly
