Many TSC alums have used their AmeriCorps experience as a stepping stone to their next level of education.

Just like employers, higher education institutions and graduate programs value the skills and experiences developed by those who have experienced a year of service. AmeriCorps members who successfully compete a term of service are eligible for an education award that can be used for future tuition or to pay back student loans. Even better, there are over 100 colleges and universities that are considered “matching institutions” that will match the education award or offer additional scholarships or discounts.

The amount of a full-time education award is the same as the maximum value of the Pell Grant for the award year in which the service year is approved. The current education award is $5,815.
