Congratulations TSC Youth Participants

TSC would like to take a moment to congratulate several of our TSC Youth Participants on attaining their Homebuilders Institute Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Training Certification and American Hotel & Lodging Association Certifications (in areas of Front Desk Representative and Guestroom Attendant). A total of 26 industry recognized credentials were attained over the course of a 6 month period. Most of the work has been accomplished remotely due to COVID-19.

Youth Programming is an alternative educational program that offers individuals ages 16-24 training and practical experience for "in-demand" industry careers through community revitalization projects, while also working to earn a high school equivalency certificate. Most program participants have been in the juvenile justice system, are aging out of foster care, are high school dropouts, and/or are otherwise at-risk of failing to reach key educational milestones and opportunities that lead to career fulfillment. Participants join TSC Youth Programming because they are looking to transform their lives and roles in society.

HomeBuilders Institute Pre-Apprenticeship Construction Training

Through HBI PACT, TSC Youth Participants learn methods and skills needed by the construction workforce such as hard and soft skills, including building trades, safety and first aid, construction math, tools and construction materials, employability, and carpentry.

American Hotel & Lodging Association - Guestroom Attendant

This certification recognizes guestroom attendants who are skilled in every cleaning task and who greet guests warmly and respond to their guestroom needs.

American Hotel & Lodging Association - Front Desk Representative

Front desk representatives play a key role in giving guests an excellent experience. TSC Youth Participants learn to greet guests, check them in, and make payment arrangements. They answer questions and make sure guests get the services they need. The Front Desk Representative certification recognizes that TSC Youth Participants are skilled at tasks they must perform and that they always provide an outstanding guest experience.
